DIY PPF Academy Lesson 27 - Why scratches appear and how to remove them

Customers have reported scratches on film after fitting, likely caused by squeegeeing without enough slip, dragging dirt and grit across and resulting in scratches. The scratches can be resolved with self-healing properties by applying heat with a steam cleaner, heat gun, , hair dryer or warm water.

A demonstration shows scratching the film with sandpaper and using a heat gun over the affected area will 'heal' the film back together. This process, similar to sunlight exposure, effectively fixes scratches instantly. Whether from squeegeeing or accidental contact, scratches on the film can be easily remedied with the application of heat.
